December 2011 - Canute Medical Acquires Lundy

Canute International Medical Services (CIMS), a subsidiary of the Canute Group, has taken over the trade and assets of Lundy Healthcare, we have also taken responsibility for all of the staff.

The Canute Group is an £80 million privately owned logistics group with global experience in a number of markets and has continued to grow and trade successfully during the recession.

CIMS has been part of the Canute Group since 2005 and has significant experience in the mobile medical logistics market and pre-medical turnkey. CIMS has a good portfolio of clients including many that were served by Lundy.

For some time CIMS has been developing its capability to enable it to exploit the many opportunities there are in both the NHS and private healthcare. It has long been clear that there are a number of synergies between CIMS and Lundy and that, if they could come together, we would be able to offer a class leading end to end service for customers in the medical equipment market.

The Canute Group is very pleased that we have now been able to achieve that and is very excited about the potential the new team, which will now all trade under the CIMS brand, brings to the Group.

The first weeks will be important as we merge our activities and we get used to working alongside each other. Whilst there may be some changes you can rest assured that the CIMS management team, supported by the extensive and experienced resources of the Canute Group, is committed to the long term future of the company and to develop it to make the most of the skills and experience of the new team.

We will be looking closely at the business to ensure that it is in good shape and properly structured to meet the demands of the industry.

August 09 - Canute enhances Environmental Policy

Canute is in the process of implementing new video conferencing facilities that will further strengthen the commitment to their Environmental Policy.

Canute’s decision to install video conferencing coincides with a new legally binding climate change and energy saving scheme called the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC).  It covers large business and public sector organisations and it will have a significant impact on reducing UK carbon dioxide emissions.  Maximising use of audio visual and video conferencing facilities is an obvious way to reduce carbon footprint and keep travel budgets low.

Working together with Carillion Communications, a technically strong and highly respected Audio Visual Systems Integrator, Canute took the decision to implement video conferencing in order to cut travel costs, improve communications between remote sites, increase productivity and streamline the decision making process.
