We are committed to maintaining high standards of occupational health and safety, which is achieved through the implementation and continual improvement of our Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems which operates in accordance to the standards and requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007.

Managing Health & Safety

We are committed to securing constant improvement in health and safety performance, which can only be achieved through the systematic identification, assessment and control of risk. This includes regular reviews of performance and audits of health and safety management systems. Canute regards statutory health and safety requirements as the minimum acceptable standard and will strive, where possible, to improve and exceed such standards.

We conduct our business in a way that ensures the health, safety and well-being of our employees, sub-contractors, suppliers and any person affected by our operations through the efficient execution of procedures, training and monitoring systems.

Training and competence

The Canute Group ensures all of its employees are competent and trained for the tasks they are expected to carry out. Our commitment to our employees through our Investors in People accreditation ensures our employees are trained and assessed from a number of sources including our In-House Training Department and specialised training providers.


Canute operate in both the public and private sectors which require external accreditation to ensure compliance with high standards of Health and Safety processes and procedures. To this end Canute are externally audited by Safecontractor and Achilles AVDB and have approved accreditation to these bodies.
