With experience of working in the construction industry spanning three decades, The Canute Group are well placed to understand the challenges of moving building materials from UK factories to construction sites throughout the country, often to demanding deadlines. 

In partnership with major building material manufacturers, Canute are able to handle building materials from brick & block to stone, concrete to bulk powder.

Canute work closely with customers to optimise payload efficiency, utilising specialist vehicle design and mechanical off load equipment by increasing bed space for the air-crete sector and the use of finger grabs for the concrete floor market. Other elements include the transportation of dry silo mortar involving vehicles with demountable tanks to replenish silos while meeting maximum efficiency targets.  

With growing demands on available building land, there are increasing numbers of brown field and smaller sites with restricted access. The Canute fleet and equipment has evolved and adapted to meet these changing physical demands by introducing smaller rigid vehicles, or rigid vehicles fitted with trailers that can be demounted to tranship larger loads.

The Group have delivered materials to sites with restricted height and width. The introduction of the “Moffet” forklift, which is demountable from a trailer, can access restricted areas where only a small forklift can operate. Trailers are fitted with rear-steer mechanisms which increase manoeuvrability on site.
