Night Shift Warehouse Supervisor - Warrington

Locations: Warrington

Job description

Canute Group are currently recruiting for a Night Shift Warehouse Supervisor to join our Warrington depot. You will be primarily responsible for supervising the shift activities: pick, pack, good-in, replenishment, vehicle offloading and loading as well as other general warehouse duties.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Supervision of the warehouse shift operations and the execution of work schedules to ensure operations are delivered on time and to agree quality service levels/key performance indicators/targets.
  • Monitoring of shift operations to ensure results are on target or variances identified as discussed with the Warehouse Manager.
  • Ensuring that operations on site are in line with customer and company policy, procedures and comply with all legal stipulations, health and safety as well as environmental requirements.
  • Provision of operational customer required reporting to agreed formats, content and frequency.
  • Responsible – whilst on shift – for the site security of vehicles, property and customer goods.
  • The support and development of a continuous improvement culture. the identification, validation and implementation of new opportunities for improved performance in health and safety, process efficiency, service quality and profitability.

This role reports into the Warehouse Manager. The need to work flexibly across all shifts and to work the hours necessary to complete all required activities are an essential part of the role.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Ideally have over five years’ operational warehouse experience within a busy warehouse operation as well as supervisory experience.
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages particularly intermediate level Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Red Prairie and use of hand held terminals for warehouse operations is a distinct advantage.
  • Be accustomed to dealing with fast-paced environments in a calm and methodical manner with a focus on accuracy as well as attention to detail.
  • Be a team player and team leader with drive, determination and a desire to succeed. High standards and attention to detail are essential as is the ability to follow standard operating procedures and ensure the team works to the required level of accuracy and speed.
  • Have a FLT qualification.
  • Be calm under pressure, reliable and adaptable with a flexible attitude towards hours and shift patterns.
  • Have an attitude and general predisposition towards high levels of customer service along with the drive and commitment to deliver a world class service.

HGV Class 1 Drivers (Night Shift) - Golborne

Locations: Golborne
Hours: Full-time (18.00 – 06.00hrs)

Canute Group are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join our Gamston depot. You will be primarily responsible for vehicle offloading and loading as well as other general warehouse duties. This is a permanent contract on 45 hours per week. Daily working hours are subject to customer demand.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Unloading of trailers and rigid vehicles.
  • Breaking down of pallets into pre-determined stock areas.
  • Checking off of goods inward.
  • Unloading containers by hand.
  • Working with drivers to get outbound vehicles loaded.
  • Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy.

This role reports into the Gamston warehouse. You will need to work flexibly across all shifts and work the hours necessary to complete all required activities – this is an essential part of the role.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Ideally have several years’ operational warehouse experience within a busy warehouse operation.

Stores Supervisor - Purfleet

Canute Group are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and driven Stores Supervisor to work within our busy HGV/LGV stores department based in Purfleet.

You will report to the General Manager and Purchasing Manager and have responsibility for the day to day running of our stores department.

Your duties and responsibilities will be to supervise a close knit team of 1-3 colleagues as well as:

  • Daily tasks inclusive of capacity planning
  • Forward ordering
  • Customer service
  • Performance management of your staff and engagement with both line managers
  • Stores layout improvement/suggestions
  • Pick and packing
  • Goods receiving
  • Deadline meeting will all form the backbone of this role along with the ability to work effectively with the other supervisors and managers within the departments.

An ideal Stores Supervisor will have the following skills and experiences:

  • You will need to have experience in a team leader/supervisory role in a similar stores operation
  • Strong computer literacy skills
  • Good communication and customer handling skills and be clearly able to demonstrate how you can add value and improvement with a friendly and hands on attitude to work.

The successful candidate will have excellent people management and communication skills to get the best out of their team in a very fast moving environment. Commitment to continuously improving the performance of our operation and diligence in dealing with the variety of operational challenges that arise on a daily basis is a prerequisite alongside a passion for doing the job safely and accurately.

The role will require a flexible working approach which reflects the needs of the business. It is expected that the normal working will be Monday to Friday working from 07.30 to 16.30 which includes an unpaid meal break of one hour per day.

Salary is between £22,000-£24,000 depending on experience.

Lorry loader/Crane Engineer - Essex/London

Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Lorry Loader/Crane Engineer to join Canute Engineering. This position will be home based within the Essex/London area.

As a Lorry Loader/Crane Engineer your duties will include maintaining a wide range of lorry loader cranes and tail lifts. Your duties will be to carry out servicing, repairs and LOLER examinations to ensure minimum downtime for our customers and to ensure compliance with regulations. Training will be provided.

The successful candidate should:

  • Have a mechanical engineering background (essential)
  • Be able to weld (essential)
  • Have experience of hydraulics and electrics (desirable)
  • Be prepared to work flexibly for some call-outs (a fee and overtime are paid)
  • Be prepared to work outdoors. (protective clothing is provided and vans are fully equipped)

This position would suit an energetic self-starter who enjoys working independently.

In return you will receive a competitive salary based on a 45 hour working week (Monday to Friday) and all other hours will be paid at our overtime rate.

Canute Engineering: HGV and Trailer Technicians and Recovery Drivers

Locations: Purfleet, Coventry, Magor and Manton
Hours: approximately 40 hours per work consisting of morning, afternoon and evening shifts

Job description

Technicians will be primarily responsible for carrying out maintenance and repairs on our mixed fleet of HGV’s and trailers as well as outside sales fleet.

HGV Recovery drivers will be primarily responsible for the safe recovery of our own fleet and customer’s fleet.

In return you will receive a competitive salary.

There may be occasions when the candidate will be required to work overtime and weekends which is payable at time and half.

  • A Skilled Technician
