HGV Class 1/Class 2 Drivers - Redhill

Locations: Redhill
Hours: 50 Daytime Hours

We have an excellent opportunity in working for a prestigious manufacturer of bespoke construction products at their facility in Redhill. Pasquill are leading designers of roof trusses and other specialist engineered timber products.

The opportunity has arisen for Class 1 & Class 2 Drivers who are able to work from our customer’s site and maintain high standards of communication and professionalism.

  • To complete deliveries on a daily basis –  multi drop or single drop runs
  • To deliver the customer’s product in a timely and professional manner remembering that you represent our customer when delivering to site
  • To provide excellent levels of customer service
  • To ensure accurate and timely communication to both Canute and our customer
  • To operate within current legal frameworks i.e. driving and working time legislation
  • To ensure a good standard of self-presentation in line with maintaining a professional image for our business
  • To ensure that you operate as trained and to ensure that you maintain a safe working environment for the safety of yourself and others, in line with the HASAWA 1974

An HGV Class 1/Class 2 Driver will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • A digital tachograph card
  • A Drivers CPC card

Working hours will need to have a flexible approach however, this role consists of 50 hours per week Monday to Friday with overtime available as and when required.

Transport Manager - Purfleet

Location: Purfleet

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Manager to join The Canute Group based in Purfleet.

This role is primarily responsible for the supervision of the Transport Office and vehicles based on the customer’s site and the execution of the customer’s delivery schedule in a timely and efficient manner.

As a Transport Manager your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Must be able to manage multiple contracts on 2 separate sites
  • Commercially astute and P&L experience
  • Must be able to analyse, implement and report back on changes to improve both customer service and Depot profitability
  • The management of the vehicle fleet:- maintenance/roadworthiness/cleanliness/legal compliance/defect & damage repair/accident reporting and procedures efficiency and utilisation
  • The planning of routes and processing of runs through GTS, the allocation of drivers & vehicles, pre-brief & debrief transactions, data collation and other Transport Office activities
  • The resolution of day to day operational issues regarding drivers, deliveries & vehicles
  • Analysis of reasons for variance of actual deliveries the planned schedules
  • Drive staff performance management & communication
  • Attend customer review meetings with the ability to report and present on relevant information
  • Maintain legal compliance, health and safety, accident reporting, WTD.
  • Timely and accurate provision of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly reports & KPIs to meet Canute and customer reporting requirements
  • The maintenance of adequate loss prevention measures for the site, including access controls & product & property security
  • The meeting of all customer Standard Operating procedures
  • General administrative duties

The successful candidate should:

  • Have several years operational experience managing a bus Transport operation and preferably hold a CPC National
  • Have excellent working knowledge of Driving Hours &  Working Time Directive rules & regulations and their application in the Transport environment
  • Be accustomed to dealing with fast paced environments in a calm, diplomatic and reasoned manner
  • Have well developed communication skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels (drivers, office staff & customers)
  • Possess well developed organization & commercial skills
  • Be calm under pressure, reliable and adaptable with a flexible attitude towards hours and shift patterns
  • Have an attitude and general predisposition towards high levels of customer service along with the drive and commitment to deliver a world class service.

The ability to co-ordinate the resolution of operational issues whilst clearly communicating between the customer and Canute personnel is key. This successful applicant ill need to be able to work flexibly across all shifts and work the hours necessary to complete all shift activities.

  • Keeping warehouse clean and tidy

The successful candidate should :

  • Ideally have several years’ operational warehouse experience within a busy Warehouse operation (white goods)
  • Be accustomed to dealing with fast paced environments in a calm methodical manner with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Have well developed communication skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels (warehouse, office staff & customers)
  • Must have valid counterbalance license, white goods clamp experience (advantage)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Lorry Loader Crane Engineer/Taillift Engineer to join Canute Engineering. This position will be home based within the Bristol/Gloucester area.

As a Lorry Loader Crane Engineer/Taillift Engineer your duties will include maintaining a wide range of lorry loader cranes and tail lifts. Your duties will be to carry out servicing, repairs and LOLER examinations to ensure minimum downtime for our customers and to ensure compliance with regulations. Training will be provided.

Canute Engineering: HGV and Trailer Technicians and Recovery Drivers

Locations: Purfleet, Coventry, Magor and Manton
Hours: approximately 40 hours per work consisting of morning, afternoon and evening shifts

Job description

Technicians will be primarily responsible for carrying out maintenance and repairs on our mixed fleet of HGV’s and trailers as well as outside sales fleet.

HGV Recovery drivers will be primarily responsible for the safe recovery of our own fleet and customer’s fleet.

In return you will receive a competitive salary.

There may be occasions when the candidate will be required to work overtime and weekends which is payable at time and half.

Required Skills and Experience for Technicians

  • A Skilled Technician
  • Preferably hold a Class 1 licence.
  • Must be flexible to help meet customer requirements.

  • Recovery experience is essential
  • Must have a Class 1 licence held for a minimum of one year and a digi tacho card.
