As we move through 2016, Canute will remain focussed on stabilising the financial status of the Group by improving profitability.

There have been a number of challenges around the building and construction sectors with the economy slowing over worries about Brexit, but if our plans and strategy come to fruition we will move towards a £150m turnover business with a stronger focus on logistics.

We are delighted to have won a number of new contracts including Smeg, Tarmac, and John Lewis, which will create more employment opportunities nationally within the Group.

Creating new jobs has always been a key focus for the Canute Group and we have been pleased with the success of our apprenticeship schemes in engineering and logistics, which are helping to encourage a new generation into our industry.

This Spring will also see the 1000th anniversary of the King who gave us our name; King Canute fought in Canewdon where we first based our small fleet of lorries, and we are looking forward to celebrating this occasion.

So as we move forward together into another busy and exciting year, we would once again like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff for their continued hard work and support.
